The average urban disposable income in China is 24,565 yuan (US$4,032.2) per person in 2012, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Among Chinese cities/regions, Shanghai tops the list with 40,188 yuan (US$6,597), followed by Beijing at 36,468 yuan (US$5,986) in 2012.
