China is a growing market for Fiji. Chinese visitor arrivals increased significantly from 4,087 in 2009 to 26,935 in 2012. This growth is largely driven by direct flights by Air Pacific from Nadi, Fiji to Hong Kong.
Fiji has been working on a number of initiatives to attract the Chinese over the years. For example, nearly half of all the ATMs in Fiji accept cash withdrawal through UnionPay cards.
