The Cachet Hotel Group will launch its flagship hotel in China’s tech capital, Chengdu, in 2016.
The hotel will be located in Chengdu’s High Tech Zone and is part of the Chengdu Jinbao Plaza mixed-use development, which includes office and commercial towers, a financial center, and a luxury shopping mall, according to Hospitality Net.
The 191-room “lifestyle” hotel will merge hospitality and entertainment. The hotel’s design will feature a glass facade and a “West meets East” motif paying homage to the region’s cultural heritage with modern design elements. The interior is inspired by Chinese motifs and includes woodcarvings, local sculptures, and silk textures. Cachet will also feature “fashion suites” designed by New York-based interior designer Jay Godfrey.
Cachet will offer a spa where guests can receive Eastern wellness treatments, as well as a bar and lounge and a signature restaurant. Eden, the hotel’s bar and lounge, features an extensive cocktail list and performances by DJs and live bands. The signature restaurant, Le Sheng, features cuisine from all four corners of China, focusing on Sichuan and Cantonese fare and dishes from Shanghai and Beijing.
The hotel’s grounds will hold community events and show works by emerging local artists.
Because the hotel is located in Chengdu, considered China’s Silicon Valley, Cachet will feature cutting-edge technological integration. Guests will be able to select their room, check-in through mobile devices, and customize their stay. Each room will have a tablet on which guests can access a variety of services, including an entertainment menu, concierge, room service, housekeeping, and laundry.
