With the desire to bring wine lovers the best wines of Bordeaux, and all the culture that goes with it, La Bordeauxthèque, a new wine shop located on the 5th floor of the Beijing Galeries Lafayette, is hoping to make more wine lovers, specifically Bordeaux lovers.
La Bordeauxthèque Beijing offers a comprehensive selection of 600 references that covers a large range of appellations, colors, vintages, formats and of course prices. Among its portfolio are First Growths from Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Mouton Rothschild, Margaux, Haut-Brion, Cheval Blanc, Petrus and Yquem. Besides these fabulous labels, there are a selection of good Bordeaux wines at affordable prices.
Owned by DUCLOT, La Bordeauxthèque can guarantee customers wines direct from the Bordeaux châteaux, a very rare feature in Asia. There are no intermediaries between the châteaux and the store.
The choices of Bordeaux can overwhelm, but the knowledgeable and well-trained staff offer personalized recommendations, whether buying for personal consumption or as a gift, and they will offer suggestions for pairing with food.
Part of appreciating French wine is appreciating the French culture or experience, explained La Bordeauxthèque Beijing Director Julien Laracine. The shop offers tastings of French food. The Wine Bar provides a superb selection of wines by the glass accompanied by French delicacies such as foie gras, cold cuts, fine cheeses, slices of country bread, tasty salads, and other dishes inspired by French chefs such as steak tartare. Of course, there is then a selection of fabulous desserts straight off the menu of a Parisian bistro, such as the famous profiteroles.
