Think shoes are just an accessory…think again.
Fans of luxury footwear have been heading to the Rupert Sanderson boutique in Hong Kong, the brand’s flagship store in Asia. The New York Times called Sanderson “the current ‘it’ designer whose creation have been donned by celebrities like Kate Moss and Carey Mulligan.”
London-based Sanderson has been into shoes since his early teens and honed his skills working for the likes of Sergio Rossi and Bruno Magli. Sanderson’s gorgeous creations blend traditional Italian craftsmanship with cool, individual style. His design ethos is simply ‘less is more’, focusing on perfecting the line, balance and symmetry of the shoe to flatter and lengthen the leg. Rather than over-embellish, Sanderson likes to pair down the design and concentrates on the fit. So even his five-inch heels is reportedly comfortable to wear.
Every pair of Rupert Sanderson is meticulously crafted by hand in his own factory in Bologna. His inspiration comes from the material itself.
