All aboard the glamour train – the Louis Vuitton Express, which was featured in the label’s fall-winter 2012 fashion show at Cour Carrée de Louvre in Paris will be barreling full-speed ahead into Shanghai mid- July.
The train will leave on July 5 and arrive on July 19, at which point models will debark and parade their Louis Vuitton ensembles for an additional fall show. The show is slated to take place at the Bund at 9 P.M. on July 19, and 10 brand-new looks will be debuted.
“We wanted to continue the journey we started with the fashion show,” said Vuitton’s artistic director Marc Jacobs. Jacobs said that the train-themed ads Steven Miesel has already photographed for the brand are meant to evoke “the glamour of travel and the romance of going somewhere.”
The event, which coincides with the grand opening of Louis Vuitton’s first maison in China – at Shanghai’s Plaza 66 luxury mall – will be documented through its own special website, www.louisvuittonexpress.com.
