Ivanka Trump, the multi-talented daughter of real estate mogul, Donald Trump, announced plans to expand into Asia with her jewelry line. Ever the one to seize opportunities, Ivanka sees a huge opportunity in China’s luxury market.
She has entered into a retail partnership agreement with Hong Kong-based Studio 1601 to launch the Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry brand in Asia.
With the first store expected to open in Hong Kong this year, they are looking for further expansion into Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei and Macau in 2012.
Studio 1601 projects each Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry boutique in Asia to generate over $3 million in sales in the first year, with an estimated 20-25 percent growth per year.
Ivanka is currently a designer and owner of her own jewelry, handbag, and shoe lines.
Her jewelry collection is inspired by the timeless glamour of the past with a twist of modern sensibility.
Jewelry may just be the first category that the entrepreneurial Trump is introducing to the Chinese.
“The luxury market in China and Hong Kong is very strong and the customer is aligned with my own target audience,” said Trump.
