alice + olivia, the line of fun, flirty women’s wear favored by Gwenyth Paltrow and Drew Barrymore, is set to open its first standalone store in Hong Kong’s International Finance Center (IFC) in June.

By pairing up with the ImagineX Group, which bills itself as Asia’s leading retail, brand management, and distribution company, the brand hopes to open 23 locations across mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, and Singapore over the next five years.

alice + olivia expects this greater China business will account for about 20 percent of its international sales within the next five years.

“The fashion savvy generation emerging out of Greater China is seeking new ways to express their individuality, and ImagineX’s wealth of expertise is the perfect vehicle to bring our brand’s unique vision and fresh sensibility to this consumer,” said Deanna Berkeley, alice + olivia’s president.

The brand has enormous potential in this market. It is feminine and at the same time eclectic; it has personality and a lifestyle, and it is accessible to the customer who wants to express herself through fashion. And alice + olivia’s clear and consistent branding and iconic retail concept ensures that it is easily remembered, which is crucial in an incredibly fast and competitive market such as China,” added Balbina Wong, Vice Chairman & CEO of ImagineX.

ImagineX Group has had great success with bringing brands like Salvatore Ferragamo, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs. They have also helped to get the alice + olivia brand exposure in China through Lane Crawford department stores, which the brand’s executives believe will fuel expansion.
