Known for its preservatives free beauty products, Japanese cosmetics company, Fancl, opened its 100th store in China.
The newest Fancl concept store in Shanghai’s IFC mall has an understated, modern, clean decor that reflects the aesthetics of the brand known for “simplicity, elegance, innovation”. The store is spacious, bright, and transparent. Its layout and product displays are functional and orderly with a translucent frosted glass separating the beauty consulting area and the VIP room.
Fancl’s skincare products are highly popular in China and Hong Kong. Fancl cosmetics were the best-selling brand at many Chinese department stores in Shanghai, according to the company.
Expanding rapidly since entering the Chinese market in September 2004, China accounts for 10 percent of Fancl’s sales this year. The brand plans more expansion in China– from the coastal cities to central and large second-tier cities. It expects to have over 104 outlets in 40 cities in China by month end.
Fancl projects global sales of 105.1 billion yen ($1.2 billion) this fiscal year, up 7 percent from the previous year. Chinese sales may reach 10.5 billion yen, according to the company.
