The 2010-2011 fall/winter collection, created by Tomas Maier, BV’s creative director, has about 200 newly designed purses waiting for their new owners.

For BV, the first cold season after the financial crisis should be full of energy and hope, which could explain the bright colors of salmon pink, forest green, pearl white and silver gray.

The Napa messenger bag, which is inspired by a vintage design of BV in the 1980’s, is available in dark green and brown.

One design, the Intrecciato Napa cross-body handbag was designated for BV’s charity auction in China in late July. Twenty-six of the green-hued satchels went to the highest bidders. Proceeds from the auction went to the Spring Bud Project, a charity program held by the China Children and Teenagers Fund (CCTF) to assist Chinese girls in poverty. Corporate social responsibility is increasingly important to wealthy, highly-educated Chinese consumers and luxury houses are starting to look for ways to give back in China.
